The U.S. Public Health Service COSTEP ProgramIHS employs 20-30 Environmental Health interns each year through the US Public Health Service Junior Commissioned Officer Student Training Extern Program (JrCOSTEP). Assignments are available throughout the year, but most are filled in the summer. COSTEP's are assigned to a preceptor at a field location and do Environmental Health work typical of an IHS Sanitarian.
